Description
The Riga Energy Agency invites you to the June edition of the Circular Economy Breakfast, a monthly event held at the Sadarbnīca Urban Resource Centre. These events bring together decision-makers, scientists, business leaders, NGOs, and community representatives to explore how circular economy principles can become a natural part of urban life. On June 19, 2025, the discussion will focus on the role of creative industries in circular transformation.
Creative professionals, including theatre producers, designers, and architects, play a crucial role in shaping perceptions, promoting sustainable practices, and inspiring behavioural change. This session will examine how circular economy thinking is applied in creative fields and how these industries can lead the transition toward sustainability.
Key discussion topics:
- Sustainable theatre productions: can theatre performances influence society to adopt circular habits? How can stage productions minimise waste and integrate resource-efficient solutions?
- Circular design & architecture: how do designers and architects apply circular principles? What role does New European Bauhaus play in shaping sustainable spaces?
- Efficient use of materials : best practices for designing sustainable set decorations, repurposing materials, and reducing waste in creative industries.
- Education & knowledge transfer: how can circular economy principles be effectively taught to students of architecture, design, and construction?
This event also serves as a preparatory session for the upcoming Latvian Circular Economy Forum, which will be held in November 2025, offering an opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration before the main event.
