Plenary Session 1: From Policy to Practice – Activating the Circular Economy Ecosystem at the Local Level

Circular economy solutions are not only environmentally sound, but they can also provide the foundation for a prosperous, resilient Europe that benefits all.

In this session, panellists will discuss how the circular economy can become a powerful engine for EU prosperity. Based on the OECD report: The Circular Economy in Cities and Regions of the EU, the conversation will explore how circular approaches can boost business competitiveness, unlock new opportunities for cities and regions, empower civil society organisations, and improve citizens' quality of life. The session will highlight actionable insights and practical examples of how shifting to a circular economy can deliver lasting economic, social, and environmental value for all.

Key insights from report: The Circular Economy in Cities and Regions of the European Union | OECD, will be presented by Aziza Akhmouch - Head of the Cities, Urban Policies and Sustainable Development division, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, OECD
