Emil Bech ANDERSEN

Emil Bech Andersen is currently head of communications & IT solutions at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment, where he oversees the public promotion of EU environment policy and the digitalization efforts to underpin its efficient implementation and monitoring.

Emil has worked in the European Commission since 2007 and has previously held management positions in policy making and communication across various fields, including humanitarian aid & crisis management and fisheries & maritime affairs.

Originally trained as a diplomat, Emil started his career in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served at Denmark’s Permanent Representation to the European Union, prior to joining the Commission.

Emil holds a Master degree in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen and a Diplôme international d’administration public from Ecole Nationale d’Administration (l’ENA) in France.
