Heather GRABBE

Dr Heather Grabbe is Senior Fellow at Bruegel, the Brussels-based think-tank, as well as Visiting Professor at University College London. Her current research is on the role of resource productivity and circularity in economic security; biodiversity finance and the role of nature credits; implementation of the Nature Restoration Law; and the evolution of green global value chains with carbon pricing.

POLITICO ranked her highly on its list of “the women who shape Brussels” while she was director of the Open Society European Policy Institute from 2009-22. Previously, she was senior advisor to European Commissioner Olli Rehn, responsible in his Cabinet for EU policy on the Balkans and Turkey.

Dr Grabbe was deputy director of the Centre for European Reform in London, and has conducted academic research at the European University Institute, Chatham House, Oxford and Birmingham universities, as well as teaching at the London School of Economics.
