Svitlana GRYNCHUK

Svitlana Grynchuk has served as the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine since September 2024. 

Prior to this, she was Deputy Minister of Energy, responsible for coordination of international technical assistance for energy recovery, as well as national and regional energy strategies, EU energy market integration, decarbonisation, and energy security.

In 2022, she held the role of Deputy Minister for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, overseeing European integration and implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.

Earlier in her career, she worked as an adviser on environmental and climate policy to the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. From 2016, as Director of the Climate Change Department at the Ministry of Ecology, she led Ukraine’s participation in the Paris Agreement and compliance with Kyoto and Montreal Protocols. Her earlier roles included work at the Cabinet of Ministers.

Svitlana Grynchuk holds a PhD in Economics, with a focus on finance and degrees from Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics and the University of Clermont-Ferrand.
